Powell's Computing Return Policy
If you are not satisfied with a product you purchased from us and you return the product with the original receipt or invoice within 30 days from the original purchase or invoice date, you may exchange the product or receive a refund, except as explained below. Computers, monitors, printers, projectors, camcorders, and cameras may be returned within 14 days from the original purchase or invoice date and are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Opened software, games, and videos may only be exchanged for the same title. All items must be in new condition, with the original box, packaging, manuals, accessories, and UPC code. Services are not refundable. Special order products are not refundable. Refunds will be made in the form of original payment. Purchases made over $250 will be refunded by check within 15 business days. We have the right to change and alter our policies at any time without notice.
Service Warranty
Any computer that had a service performed by a Powell's Computing technician will be under warranty for a period of 30 days. We offer the warranty only on the service that was actually done. If the computer is not protected from viruses and spy ware the warranty is void. The Year Service Warranty may be purchased and Powell's Computing will offer services including: installation of hardware, software, in home services, troubleshooting, troubleshooting on established network. The cost of additional hardware or software in not included. To establish a new network or wiring is not covered under the service warranty. The warranty covers one computer; additional warranties may be purchased to cover additional computers. The warranty offers unlimited phone support, remote desktop assistance, and in home visits per service warranty up to 12.
Data Backup/File Transfer
Data will be stored for a period of 30 days. After this period the customer may choose to pay a monthly backup fee to have the data stored on a remote server where the customer may access the data at any time. Powell's Computing must be notified within the 30 day period to backup or the data will be erased permanently. The customer will receive a login name and password for the security of all data.
Authorization
I hereby authorize the repair work to be done along with necessary materials. Powell’s Computing is not responsible for any loss or damage to computer, in case of fire, theft or any other cause beyond our control, or for any delays caused by unavailability of parts or delays in parts shipments by supplier or transporter. Data that is backed up will be saved for a maximum of 30 days. In home service includes two hours of service, additional hours are billed at $15/hour. The service warranty includes the cost of labor and service charges that Powell’s Computing performs on the customers’ computer. Any parts that are needed will be charged to the customer. Any returned check/non-sufficient funds will be subject to $30 fee.
Mail-In Service
All the above applies along with the following: All damage will be documented upon arrival of computer. Any damage not listed on your form will result in non-acceptance of our service. It is your responsibility to document any problems with the computer, as only those listed will be troubleshooted. You are responsible for shipping the computer to us. We recommend using the original packing material or similar foam surround. We recommend insuring your package, as damage upon arrival will be your responsibility. We use UPS or FedEx as shipping and all of our returns will be insured and you will be supplied a tracking number. Any special order part may take 5 to 10 business days for us to receive. Please note the extra time, we will keep you updated via email or online status.
Special Orders
Due to the nature of a special order product, we are not able to return or refund these products. A special order is defined as any product customized to your specifications or a product or part for your specific computer. We do require half down, as a go ahead and order this product, for computers that we do not keep in stock. You are required to pay in full once the product arrives. If after 30 days of non-payment or non-pickup, you default any payment that has been applied to your invoice and we have the right to do with what we see fit with the product, in return we agree not to turn your account over to a collection agency and write off your balance due.
Shipping
Most orders are shipped within 1 -3 business days. We ship our packages via UPS, FedEx and USPS (generally used for single smaller items). Once the package ships, we will email you the tracking number and shipping verification. The costs added in the shipping include packing material, box, shipping cost, nominal charge for labor and handling, and insurance.
All shipments are insured for damage through the shipping company. Powell’s Computing is not responsible for any physical damage to products by the shipping company. Powell’s Computing is NOT responsible for any loss or damage due to packages left at your doorstep by delivery drivers.
WALK-IN CUSTOMERS: Yes we do allow customers to pick up their order to save shipping cost. Once you place your order, we will send you a confirmation email letting you know that you order is ready for pick up. You should select "Pick-up. No Shipping Charge" as the shipping method on your order. If there is a shipping charge on your order, we will remove it once we process your order.
Cancellation
Once an order is sent, it is received and processed immediately within the next business hour. Therefore, change or cancellation is very difficult. You may call 608-424-6105 during 8-5 CST for cancellation; however we do not guarantee that your order will be changed or cancelled. If your order is shipped, you may refuse the package; however you will be responsible for the shipping charges. A 10% restocking fee will be added to computers, printers, monitors, and other large sized items because the condition of the returned boxes significantly reduces the re-sale value of the returned products.

We will not refund any shipping charges incurred. Make sure you include a copy of the original invoice, without this you will not receive a refund.
